Laser Therapy

Laser therapy uses advanced technology to manage pain and treat a broad range of ailments in our animal friends. It is completely non-invasive, does not require the use of any drugs and is totally painless for your pet, yet results can often be seen after just one session. At BlueSky Veterinary Center, we use laser therapy to help reduce acute and chronic pain in our patients, improve their mobility, reduce inflammation and speed the healing process following surgery or injury.

How does laser therapy work?

During a laser therapy session, the doctor uses a small, handheld device that emits a laser. The laser is completely painless to the patient, yet is highly effective in producing the body’s natural healing mechanisms. When the laser is used, it stimulates the cells in and around the targeted area, which in turn increases blood flow, reduces pain signals and promotes faster regeneration of healthy tissue. It can be used to treat any of the following conditions:

  • Acute or Chronic Medical Conditions
  • Arthritis
  • Degenerative Joint or Disc Disease
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Hip Dysplasia
  • Wound Healing
  • Post-Surgical Recovery
  • Pain Management
  • Fractures
  • Inflammation
  • Allergies
  • Infections
  • Lick Granulomas
  • Dental Problems
  • Geriatric Care

Laser therapy is especially effective in managing the ongoing health of senior pets, as it can improve mobility and help them enjoy the golden years in greater comfort.

How many treatments will it take for my pet to feel better?

There is no one-size-fits-all solution for treating pets, whether it’s through laser therapy or any other treatment method. Some animals may respond positively after just one or two sessions, while others may take longer to achieve the desired results. Once the doctor has examined your pet and evaluated his or her specific condition, we will provide you with a detailed treatment recommendation, including the number of sessions we believe would produce optimum results.

If your loved one suffers from any of the above listed conditions or is experiencing pain from a recent injury, surgery or chronic illness, laser therapy may provide the relief he or she deserves. The first step is picking up the phone and discussing your options with us. Let’s work together to improve your loved one’s quality of life.
